Reviewing Y/E Adjustments
This help article has some best practice guidance and useful tips for reviewing year end adjustments.
- Before reviewing the Y/E adjustments ensure that the adjustments have been correctly classified on Silverfin as internal and external as this has a direct impact on the journal that has been generated.
- Give the figures a sense check but the main things to check are adjustments to control accounts (bank, debtors, creditors), VAT adjustments, new codes being set up (are these definitely necessary? eg fixed asset movement codes such as additions, disposals etc)
- Once the adjustments have been posted by either the preparer or the client you should go back into the Silverfin file to ensure it is still correct.
