KashFlow
This help article shows you how to obtain and format the manual upload file for a KashFlow job.
- How to run the report required for the manual upload
- How to format the report for importing
- How to run the nominal ledger report
Select: Reports from the left hand menu, "Business" tab, "Nominal Ledger"
Filter the dates for the current year dates and run the report.
*Important*
It is important when running the nominal ledger that you tick to include the opening balances (and therefore do not roll forward the balance sheet on Silverfin).
This is to help identify if any client back postings have occurred as it will throw up a difference in retained earnings.
Click on ‘Select All’, then ‘Next’ at the bottom of the screen.
Select, ‘Download to CSV’ from the top right.
- How to format the report for importing (see video here - 1min40)
Once you have followed the steps in the video see below for additional work to be done.
The debit and credit columns for the nominal ledgers don’t balance – this is because KashFlow Nominal Ledgers do not include the transactions for nominal codes which are setup as bank accounts.
You may see transactions on a bank account but these will only appear where they are transfers between other bank accounts, please delete these lines.
The opening balances will also be included for these bank accounts however they are likely to be the incorrect balance so we advise you delete these lines and manually enter the opening balance followed by the movement as detailed below.
To identify which accounts the client has setup as bank accounts in KashFlow (as it may be more than just the bank accounts) select ‘Bank’ from the left hand menu and note all of the accounts which are listed.
You’ll then need to run a TB for the current year, and the prior year and identify the opening balance and movement in each of the ‘bank’ codes. These will need to be manually entered onto the nominal ledger document, which should then balance the debits and credits.
- Check the debits and credits balance
- Save the file somewhere on your computer but also save to SharePoint and Silverfin documents. Suggested name "TEST001 2023 manual import file".
