Companies House Sync
This help article discusses how the companies house sync works and the best practice for using it.
It is best practice to use the Companies House sync on all corporate files initially and then make the updates to shareholders etc. BA admin will not be able to lodge accounts which have the below error message.
Using the companies house sync ensures that the directors and secretary are up to date per companies house and that there are no spelling mistakes. Once you have got these in you can then enter the shareholder details.
The wrong data is pulling in?
If incorrect data is pulling in it is likely that the companies house number in Silverfin is incorrect. To update this you need to update in 2 separate places.
- Edit Client / Client Information - Remember to scroll down and click "Save changes"
2. Companies House Sync - The sync will need disconnected and then re-connected with the correct number. See below on how to do this.
To disconnect a Companies House sync:
- Go to Client Overview, Edit Client, Sync
- Scroll down to "Client information data sync"
- Click the pencil icon
- Click the dropdown option and select "Remove administration synchronisation"
- Save changes.
To reconnect a Companies House sync:
- Go to Client Overview, Edit Client, Sync
- Scroll down to "Client information data sync"
- Click the plus icon
- Should automatically have Companies House selected
- Enter the client's company number
- Save changes.
